MUMBAI: UTV’s Khosla Ka Ghosla will be screened at the Kara Film Festival in Karachi this December.
The festival is scheduled to be held from 7 – 17 December. Being in its sixth year, the Kara Film festival is an initiative towards the development of the motion picture industry in Pakistan. It endeavours to provide a platform to experienced as well as new film makers to exhibit their creative endeavour and at the same time learn from each other.
UTV CEO Ronnie Screwvala says, “Khosla Ka Ghosla is a simple story that immediately connects with the human heart thus breaking all physical boundaries. We are hopeful that the film creates the same magic it did with the Indian audiences at the festival.â€ÂÂ
A sweet black comedy Khosla Ka Ghosla is inspired from a typical Indian middle class family; it depicts the ideal middle class man played by the very versatile Anupam Kher, who aspires of building a dream house out of his life savings. But ends up meeting the shrewd estate agent played by the mutli talented Boman Irani who has acquired his plot.
Being a directorial debut of Dibankar Banerjee, the film was shot on 45-day start to finish schedule in Delhi and received acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival. Apart from Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, the movie also features actors like Parveen Dabas, Ranvir Shorey, Tara Sharma, Vinay Pathak and Naveen Nischol.
