MUMBAI: Cape Town is reigning in Bollywood. After Anubhav Sinha’s Cash and Tips’ Race, this week’s release Kya Love Story Hai, starring Tusshar Kapoor and Ayesha Takia too has been shot entirely in the locales of Cape Town, South Africa.
Says producer Babloo Pachisia, “Initially, when we went location scouting, we thought of shooting the film in either Bangkok or Mauritius. But after much pondering, we decided on Cape Town because it looks far more beautiful.”
The film was shot over a period of 40 days from the end of September till 10 November 2006, without any subsidies or tax exemptions from the government, avers Pachisia.
Adds director Lovely Singh, “The entire film has been shot in Cape Town, excluding one song which was shot in Powai and another song picturised on Kareena, which was shot at Filmistan studios in Mumbai.”
Kya Love Story Hai is Singh’s debut film as a director. He has earlier worked as an assistant to Satish Kaushik from Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999) till Shaadi Se Pehle (2006).
Kya Love Story Hai is touted to be a light hearted romantic film, which features Tusshar Kapoor and Ayesha Takia together on screen for the first time.
