Why so little work?
It would’ve been the easiest thing for me to sign a dozen films and do any number of endorsements that would keep me busy for the next three years.I am getting crazy offers and more money than I had ever imagined myself making.
What are you doing with the money?
I’ve zero financial acumen. Thankfully I’ve a father who’s a businessman.
After the release of BBB your world changed overnight. You acquired quite a reputation?
I haven’t made an effort to be any way. This is the way I’m wired. Main kya karoon? If I’m seen to be making my presence felt in public places when I’m making no such effort then I take that as a compliment.I am an entertainer and if I am entertaining people I’ve succeeded.
Your take on a friend who is becoming more and more distant.
Mash Allah she is doing so well for herself.I really think she’s too good for me. To begin with she’s far better looking.
You claim you’re single?
I can’t date anyone at the moment. Where is the time? There’s no space for a woman in my life. From the time my day starts, there’s so much to do. There’s no end to the things I want to do. I’d rather conserve my energy.I’m completely consumed by my career. Night time is my favorite time of the day when I get to spend time with myself.
You do like yourself, don’t you?
Actually there’s quite a bit of self-loathing in me. I’m torn between self-loathing and self-love. I am objective enough to see my flaws. I look back and know where I’ve gone wrong.
What don’t you like about yourself?
Plenty.
Is there a fear that your second film The Ladies Versus Ricky Behl might not live up to the expectations created by your first film?
If you had asked me this question a few days ago I’d have probably expressed fear. While shooting for this film I stopped looking at myself on the monitor. I had no idea what was being canned.I had no idea what images were being created in this film. But in the past few days I’ve been watching the rushes for some temporary dubbing. I’m very thrilled with what I saw.
Are you a good judge of your own performances?
I’m very harsh on myself. I always feel I’ve done a terrible job. But then there are times when I get entertained by myself.
Your first two films are with the same team. Trepidations about working outside?
I think I am okay. I am not bad. But nothing great.
How much do you rate yourself as an actor.

For looks?

Are you living out a dream life?
When I am on sets and someone says, ‘Action’, that’s when the dream begins. To do for a living what I love doing, that’s my dream life. I’m one of the lucky few who get to do at work what they love the most.
Do you think the years of struggle before BBB have made you a better person?
For sure! You’ve to draw on your own experiences in order to make your performance convincing. I am thankful for going through the struggle. It makes me value what I have today. The bad experience makes you…wholesome!
You are a closet rapper! Your rap number about your stardom on Simi Garewal’s show made quite an impact?
Throughout my formative years I listened to so much rap and hip-hop that a knack for rhyming got ingrained in me.
