MUMBAI: Imran Khan is an actor with a lot of time, but he is making the most of it. He is now fully engrossed in the pre-production of his latest film from Dharma Productions. I Hate Luv Storys is slated to start shooting from next month and like all good banners, a lot of time and effort has been invested in planning for the shoot.
Khan tells Businessofcinema.com, "Dharma Productions functions a lot like Aamir Khan Productions. Everything is planned. From getting a bound script to shoot dates, from shoot locations to shot breakdown, everything is listed and so it makes everything very smooth for the actor. He only has to concentrate on his acting."
Imran has had three releases till date. While his debut film Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa created magic at the box office, his other films, Kidnap and Luck left a lot to be desired. His close friend confided, "Those films were not at all well planned. There is a lot of stress on the actor if he does not know what he is shooting on a particular day. But he has a lot of respect for both his directors, Soham Shah and Sanjay Gadhvi and is looking forward to working with them."
In fact Khan was all set to work with Sanjay Gadhvi. Katrina Kaif was signed opposite him but the actress demanded some changes. However, after some time Kaif walked out of the project and the film was shelved.
Now, Khan is in rehearsal mode as he gets ready for I Hate Luv Storys. His co-star is Sonam Kapoor. A film with Dharma Productions is certainly a coup for Khan and will certainly help him in his career, which took a beating after two successive poor performances at the box office. I Hate Luv Storys will be directed by Punit Malhotra.
