Inox Leisure posts net profit of Rs 83 million

MUMBAI: Multiplex chain Inox Leisure has posted a net profit of Rs 83 million (Rs 8.3 crores) for the quarter ended 30 September 2007, up 19 per cent as compared to Rs 69.6 million (Rs 6.96 crores) in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.


 


The company’s revenue stood at Rs 580.2 million (Rs 58.02 crores) as compared to Rs 399.6 million in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year, thus seeing a growth of 45 per cent.


 


Inox Leisure director Deepak Asher said, “These figures are reflective of our aggressive national roll out and our profit leadership position in the industry.”


 


The company’s properties under operation were up from 12 in Q2 2006 to 20 in Q2 2007. The screens under operation were up from 44 in Q2 2006 to 69 in Q2 2007 across 16 Indian cities.


 


The amalgamation of Calcutta Cine Private Limited (CCPL) with INOX was also completed during the quarter.


 


During the quarter, INOX opened three new properties, comprising eight screens and 2728 seats, at Bharuch, Raipur and Mumbai.
