MUMBAI: Actor Irrfan Khan has been signed to  play the role of Van Atter in the new Spiderman flick which is still not titled. The movie will have  Andrew Garfield playing Peter Parker aka the Spiderman..

Khan has also  recently done the American drama In Treatment, will want to make an impact in a Hollywood blockbuster that is slated to hit the screens in July 2012.

Khan will be joining Rhys Ifans as the villains in the film. The character that Khan will play is a fanged red monster that has briefly appeared in the Marvel comics canon that launched Spiderman. The human character is called Nels Van Atter.

This 3D  film is expected to be released in the summer of 2012.
