According to recent reports in the press, Ron Howard’s film, The Da Vinci Code that was slated for release on May 19 was to be delayed due to the nature of its controversial subject.
The reports also mentioned that the Christian community in Mumbai was planning to stage protests as the subject of the film was sensitive and would hurt sentiments. However sources at Sony Pictures have denied that the film’s release has been delayed and added that the film will be released as per original schedule and plan on May 19.
The film is currently awaiting the Censor Board’s clearance.
