MUMBAI: Junior Mehmood, who acted as the younger version of ace comedian Mehmood in films like the 1968 Sanghursh and Brahmachari will now produce and direct a Marathi film.
Incidentally, this is Mehmood’s fifth film as director.
Says Mehmood, “The film is titled Adla – Badli and as the title suggests, it is an out and out comedy film and a complete family entertainer. With actors like Sachin and Ashok Saraf playing the main protagonists, you cannot expect a serious film! It also features Teja Deokar, Viju Khote, Anand Abhyankar and Vinay Yedekar. The film is being made under my banner, H R Films and is presented by the Pittie Group in association with Victoria Entertainments. We have started recording songs for the film under the baton of music director Amar Haldipur. We have even shot for a couple of days and are awaiting dates of the main stars.”
Junior Mehhmood has in the past, won accolades for his acting in films like Pyar Hi Pyar, Do Raaste, Kati Patang, Aan Milo Sajana, Johar Mehmood in Hong Kong, Caravan, Bombay to Goa, Jheel Ke Us Paar, Amir Garib, Geet Gaata Chal, Sangram, Taxi Taxi, Aap To Aise Na The, Ankhiyon Ke Jharonkon Se, Aaj Ka Arjun, Chote Sarkar, Judaai and Chalo Ishq Ladaye.
