MUMBAI: In India, nothing sells more than fairness creams. With not just the country’s fairer sex, but also the male bastion lapping up these creams, the fairness cream market is huge. The latest one to sign up for endorsing it is Katrina Kaif.
Katrina has signed up as the face for Olay’s skin whitening cream. The yet to be launched product has the fair skinned actress vouching for its ability to make your skin tone several shades lighter.
A spokesperson from the brand said, "Fairness creams sell the most in India and the sub continent. And currently, Katrina Kaif is on top with two big releases – Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dhana Dhan. Hence it seemed to be the perfect time to cash in. But most importantly, it was Katrina herself. The actress is known for her peaches and cream complexion, and young India likes to emulate her. So she was the perfect fit."
Apart from Katrina, Sonam Kapoor is the other big name that endorses L’Oreal’s skin whitening cream.
Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham endorse fairness creams for men, Emami and Garnier, respectively.
