Malayalam music maestro Johnson no more

MUMBAI: Music composer of Malayalam cinema Johnson died of a heart attack in Chennai. He was 58.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

He was a winner of two National Film Awards and five state awards for his music.

Some of the films that he worked on include Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Vadakkunokkiyanthram, Perumthachan, Amaram, Njan Gandharvan, Ponthan Mada and Bhoothakkannadi.

Johnson independently composed his first film score in Bharatan’s Aravam.

He worked in more than 300 Malayalam films.
