MUMBAI: Actor Dharmendra will be seen on the big screen this March in an action thriller titled Deal-In Crime.
The actor was last seen in Kis Kis Ki Kismat and Hum Kaun Hai, in 2004. Earlier, Dharmendra had made a special appearance in Shirdi Sai Baba, in 2001. His other film titled Apne, which also stars his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol is scheduled to release in May this year. The movie also stars Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif and Kirron Kher.
Deal-In Crime, on the other hand, has been produced by Sheela under the banner of Swaroop Pictures and is directed by Jitendra Johri, who has earlier worked for Boney Kapoor and Subhash Ghai. Preeti-Prakash are the executive producers of this film.
Prakash Agrawal, of the Preeti-Prakash duo, says, “Deal-In Crime is an action thriller. Dharmendra plays a builder in the film. Bhojpuri film actor Ravi Kissen plays a cop. We have introduced a new girl, Devyani as the female lead. Ashish Vidyarthi plays a negative role, a character who undertakes contract killings.”
Mohan Joshi, Razzak Khan and Shakti Kapoor are also part of the cast. Himesh Reshammiya’s father, Vipin Kishore, has provided the music score for the film. “We have recorded six songs in the voices of Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Deepa Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Poornima, Simi and Amit Kumar,” says Agarwal. The film is likely to hit theatres in March 2007.
