MUMBAI: The Mudra Institute of Commnications, Ahmedabad (MICA) Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) will soon be organizing a short film festival called Fulmarxx Shorts Fest. Talking about this initiative, Shiladitya, the brain behind FulMarxx tells Businessofcinema.com, “The filmmakers are being talked about here, and why not, it is time that the awesomely talented guys keeping a low profile and carrying the art of visualizing art forward were recognized.”
The FulMarxx Shorts Fest is devoted to bringing together diverse film making talents in India and providing them with a springboard to fame and success through a national event. To be held over 26-27 April, the deadline for submission of entries is 25 March.
“India as a nation has always obsessed about the onscreen performers of cinema–the actor has always been seen as more important than the behind-the-camera performers, who are heroes and heroines in their own right,” Shiladitya said.
The festival will witness competition across three categories: (i) Micro Shorts: run time up to 10 minutes; (ii) Mini Shorts: run time up to 20 minutes and (iii) Long Shorts: run time up to 30 minutes. A total of 10 films will be short listed in each category for the final screening. The festival accepts all film styles: Documentary, Experimental, Animation and Narrative.
