Mumbai Film Festival hosts business centre to provide opportunities

MUMBAI: Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) brings the 11th edition of the Mumbai Film Festival (MFF) scheduled to take place from 29 October to 5 November, 2009 in Mumbai.  This year MFF is introducing the Film Business Centre with an aim to provide a networking platform for the Indian  distributors, producers, television channels and the foreign sales agents, festival directors and producers to enhance the international sales of Indian films. 

The Film Business Centre will be hosted for a period of four days from 30 October to 3 November , 2009 at Fun Cinemas, Andheri which is the central hub for MFF. The Film Business Centre aims at facilitating industry professionals from all over the world to explore business opportunities in India. The purpose is to encourage B2B interactions under the aegis of the Mumbai Film Festival. The Film Business Centre will be open to the members of film industry on an invitation basis and also to the registered delegates of MFF.

Representatives from film production and distribution companies, film sales agents from various countries and directors of film festival will be attending the Film Business Centre during the 11th Mumbai Film Festival. Sales agents from companies such as UniFrance, UK Film Council, Pioniwa Film Co., Japan, Channel Asia, Japan, Hanway Films, UK, b, France, Celluloid Dreams, France amongst many others will be present. Marit Capla, director Goteborg International Film Festival, Irene Dignardi former programming director Locarno Film Festival and many others too will be present. 

Film Business Centre of the Mumbai Film Festival is a beginning to provide networking facilities for the Indian buyers, distributors, producers, television channels and the foreign sales agents, directors and producers.
