MUMBAI: Neetu Chandra is still in a daze. After reaching the dizzying heights of sharing screen presence with the superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan, the actress is still pinching herself.
Recollects Chandra, "I had shot the Parker pen commercial with Mr.Bachchan, which was directed by Priyadarshan and that’s how I got selected by the film maker for Garam Masala. But acting in a film is a different ball game."
Chandra is currently shooting for Ram Gopal Varma’s Rann. The actress was called in at the last minute as a replacement for Raima Sen as she has a more sensual personality. The actress who moved from Delhi to make a career in the glamour industry, gives us the lowdown of her first shot with the Big B, "I had an emotional scene with Mr. Bachchan’s wife and at the end of the scene, he had to enter. As I was doing my rehearsals, Mr.Bachchan walked into the set. At once the ambience changed. He was in a good mood and was laughing out loud. When I reminded him of the Parker pen shoot, he immediately recollected and spoke to me very well. I was so touched. The man’s superstar status has not affected him at all and he is so down to earth. I thoroughly enjoyed my shoot with him."
Chandra’s mother is an equally big fan of the Big B. Unfortunately, she had to leave town for some urgent work, or as Chandra said, she would have definitely come on the sets. The actress will be shooting for the film for the next few days.
