MUMBAI: Onyomo, a consumer search service, has launched Movie Availability on GPRS and the Internet. GPRS users can access and find all relevant information on movies, including availability, latest releases, and narrow down by show timings, movie stars, movie chains etc in an interactive way. The same service will also shortly be available on SMS.
In addition to movies, Onyomo will also deliver search on lowest air fares, airline phone numbers, restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, ATMs etc.
Movie availability has been commercially launched on 7 September for major movie chains in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad etc, and later more cinema halls will be added.
Movie buffs can access this service by logging on the GPRS site www.owap.in and internet site www.onyomo.in on their mobile phone browser. They can select their city of choice, a preferred location (optional), eg Bandra or CP (for Connaught Place), and specify movie name, cinema name or just “movies” in the search criteria. Users will be able to find reviews, ratings and other details on movies. They will also find a call center number that they can call for booking the tickets.
The movie availability service comes with the booking call center number of the movie hall as well as a third party provider. It will allow all movie buffs across major Indian cities to access comprehensive actionable movie information with minimum effort and cost. CDMA phone users could check with their operator if the service is accessible from their phones.
