Peepli Live is a satirical take on farmer suicides and the media reaction to it. The movie has been critically appreciated and was even picked up for a special screening at the Berlin International Film Festival. The movie was also named the Best First Feature Film at the 31st Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.

The film that stars Omkar Das Manikpuri, Raghuvir Yadav and Shalini Vatsa has been produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Anusha Rizvi.
