Gada had filed 12 criminal complaints against M K Pictures’s Mehul Kumar for bouncing cheques, U/s 138 under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Says Gada, “Mehul’s lawyers had asked for personal attendance exemption. He had attended the court on 20 February 2006 on a personal bond of Rs 84,000 and said that he had to be with his wife, who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. The court granted him time on humanitarian grounds. Now the case will be heard on 8 March 2007. It’s five years and I am only asking for my money back.”

Mehul Kumar was unavailable for comment, even as his close confidantes chose to be tight-lipped about the proceedings.
