Percept Picture Company appoints Sanjay Ahire as COO – films

MUMBAI: Sanjay V. Ahire has joined Percept Picture Company as chief operating officer – feature films.

Businessofcinema.com had recently reported that after the departure of Percept Picture Company CEO Navin Shah in August this year, the company appointed Shenazz Nadirshah as AVP feature films. Prior to joining Percept, Ahire was running his own marketing consultancy agency called Morphidea Ideations and handled clients like Zee Learn, Chaupaati Bazaar and Beyond Dreams, to name a few.

Ahire said, "It’s very exciting to be here at PPC, heading the Feature Films side of the business. Over the years, PPC has always understood the pulse of the Indian audience and has consistently delivered award winning movies with meaningful content. I look forward to being a part of many such innovative and interesting projects.

Ahire will be heading PPC’s Feature Film SBU and overseeing every aspect of marketing, sponsorships and monetization. Some of the movies that the company has lined up are Madhur Bhandarkar’s Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer Jail in November 2009 and Raat Gayee Baat Gayee in December 2009. Other films ready for release include Priyadarshan’s Bumm Bumm Bole starring Darsheel Safary; Shamin Desai’s Emraan Hashmi starrer 24x7Raftaar; Nagesh Kukunoor’s Aashayein starring John Abraham; Yeh Hausla; and Marathi theatre director Chandrkant Kulkarni’s first film Carry on Pandu starring Ranvir Shorey, Om Puri and Anupam Kher.

During his 12 years in the industry, he has also been associated with companies like Sony Music, Radio Mirchi, Reliance Entertainment and Tangerine Digital Entertainment. He was also part of PPC’s startup team in 2005-06 and was responsible for the marketing and distribution.
