MUMBAI: Producer Prakash Jha is set to release his next film Dil Dosti Etc. in May this year.
The film has been directed by debutant Manish Tiwari and stars Shreyas Talpade, Imaad Shah (son of Naseeruddin Shah), Ishita, Smriti Mishra and Nikita Anand. Siddharth, Suhas and Agnee, who had last composed music for The Hangman, have provided the music for this film.
Says Tiwari, “Dil Dosti Etc. is a fresh, unabashed, no holds barred look at how young men of today think and choose to live their lives. The story is about two different people and their behaviour and ambitions. The film has been inspired by Satyajit Ray’s character Apu from Apur Sansar. In other words, the film is based on politics and sex, which are everyday occurrences in the Delhi University campus. The film was canned in 33 days, before which we held a three week workshop.”
Jha has earlier made critically acclaimed films like Apaharan, Mrityudand, Gangaajal, Parinati and Damul. He has also made films in a lighter vein, like Dil Kya Kare, Rahul and Hip Hip Hurray.
