The filmmaker is not very amused with the rumored exclusion of Priyanka Chopra. “First of all, who said Priyanka Chopra wasn’t invited? I never commented. She has always been on this. I have had a very warm and wonderful professional equation with Priyanka.,” says Johar, clarifying that Priyanka Chopra got the invite “quite late”.

But didn’t he hit out at her on his Twitter page after her tabloid interview? “When you turn 40, the first sign of hitting that age bracket is gaining maturity and ironing out issues in your life. I have realised that it’s the only way to live life. We have worked together in Dostana and Agneepath , two standing pieces that have done very well for us. So, there’s no reason why anything should change now or in the future,” he explains.

But what gets Karan excited is his much-talked-about birthday party at Taj Lands End today. “I always wanted to host such a bash. For me, there has never been any huge celebration like a wedding or something where you have all your loved ones and friends under one roof,” he chuckles, adding he has no idea what party planner and designer Manish Malhotra has done for the party. “I am just waiting to be surprised,” he laughs.

What about the so-called Salman-SRK clash at his party, “I have invited everyone with a lot of love and respect and I am sure people will come with the same emotions. It will be a room full of love,” he says.

Karan, after being asked about Ram Gopal Vermas’s invitation mentioned that he doesn’t know Ramu personally and has never been a friend or a professional associate and so has not been invited.
