MUMBAI: PVR Pictures is planning to give Blue a big release in the North. While Ghajini released with 228 screenings in Delhi-UP and E.Punjab, BLUE will be released on 238 screens in the North.
Also while Ghajini had hit the theaters two weeks after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, it was a solo release whereas Blue will be releasing with two big movies: All the Best and Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna inspite of which PVR has managed to explore more centers and will cover the region with more prints.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com PVR CEO Uday Singh said, "Blue will be the widest release for Delhi-UP, E.Punjab ever that the industry has witnessed. We like to sell as many prints as per demand and there has been a demand for BLUE. We are hoping for a big opening."
PVR Pictures is also expanding business opportunity in the South by setting up base in Chennai with the release of All The Best. PVR Pictures is distributing this movie across Tamil Nadu and Mysore/ Bangalore. According to Singh, PVR Chennai will also handle the English releases in the South.
