Raj Sippy’s Satte Pe Satta remake on hold

MUMBAI: Producer-director Raj Sippy, who is currently busy with his latest film Jimmy starring Mimoh Chakravorty, is now planning to remake the Vinod Khanna starrer Inkaar. Sippy, who was keen on making the remake of Satte Pe Satta with Sanjay Dutt in the lead, has now put the project on hold.

Says Sippy, “I had planned to remake Satte Pe Satta with Sanjay Dutt but the project has taken a back seat after Dutt’s arrest. Now, I want to remake Inkaar and I’m looking for the right face to fit into the shoes of Vinod Khanna.”

The director is keen on casting Vivek Oberoi for the lead role. He adds, “I feel Vivek Oberoi is a great actor and he is my first choice for the role. The discussions about the film are underway and I hope to make an announcement soon.”

Sippy is also working on Hamilton Palace, which stars Mimoh Chakravorty. It seems he has been entrusted with the responsibility of making Mimoh the next superstar. Adds Sippy, “My relationship with Mithun dates back to two decades and my film Boxer with him in the lead is still one of my dearest scripts, though it isn’t my most popular film. I’m sure that Jimmy will strike a popular chord with the audiences.”

Meanwhile Sippy’s other project, Mr. Khujli, with Rajpal Yadav in the lead, has an undecided fate even though the film is complete and ready for release.
