MUMBAI: AB Corp and Reliance BIG Pictures have signed Arjun Rampal for its upcoming movie Kunal Avadana, to be directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi. This movie is a part of the joint venture agreement between Amitabh Bachchan’s AB Corp and Anil Ambani’s Reliance BIG Pictures.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com about the same, Dr Dwivedi said, "We have signed Arjun Rampal for the lead role in our film and we are now in the process of signing others too. We have been talking to a few actors and they will be finalised over the next couple of weeks."
In the movie Rampal will play the lead role of Veera Kunal, who is the son of King Ashoka. The character of King Ashoka will be played by Bachchan.
Dr Dwivedi further added, "The movie is set in 240 BC and is a period drama based on the father – son relationship between King Ashoka and Kunal."
The movie is slated to go on floors by early next year.
Apart from Dr Dwivedi, the Reliance Big Pictures – AB Corp joint venture has also signed directors like Rohan Sippy, Sujoy Ghosh and R Balakrishnan (Balki).
