Revealed: Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam Release Date

Kamal-Hasan-09Kamal Haasan starrer Papanasam has finally got a release date and it is coming out sooner than expected. After increasing the anticipation with the trailer, the filmmakers have announced that the film is all set to hit theaters onJuly 17. Kamal Haasan’s previous film Uttama Villain faced many controversies and didn’t manage to fare that well at box office either.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph the film is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam that was critically acclaimed and won several awards including Kerala State Film Awards. The original cast included south superstar Mohanlal, Meena and Asha Sarath amongst others. Asha Sarath was awared Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film and once again she will be playing the same role in the Tamil Remake of the film.

Interestingly the film will be released two weeks prior to the release of its Hindi version starring actor Ajay Devgn in lead role. Over a short span of time the original film Drishyam has managed to get a remake in almost all the major languages and now actors Kamal Haasan and Ajay Devgn are ready to dazzle their Tamil and Bollywood fans respectively. The story is a crime fiction thriller based on the lives of a family of four.

Kamal Haasan who plays the character of Suyambu Lingam is a cable operator who has a loving family of two daughters and wife. Circumstances make Suyambu play with the law and order of the country in order to assure the safety of his family. The film stars Gautami Tadimalla, Nivedita Thomas and Asha Sarath amongst others. Kamal Haasan and Gautami’s lovable pair will be appearing on silver screens after almost two decades.
