Salman Khan to walk the ramp at Kolkata Fashion Week

MUMBAI: Salman Khan prefers to walk the path less treaded. The actor has been going out of his way to promote his upcoming film, Wanted. And in this endeavour, the actor will walk the ramp at the Kolkata Fashion Week, which starts on 9 September.

"Salman has been a close friend of Vikram Phadnis and has been his show stopper but this is the first time he will be doing it for a film. He is so involved with the promotion of Wanted that he has agreed to do things hitherto he has not done. And walking the ramp is certainly a first for him," says a close friend of the actor.

Khan has given a spate of interviews and has been available for every event that requires his presence for the campaigning of the film. Most believe that as Boney’s son Arjun is almost considered family to the actor, Khan is going out of his way. His friend however clarifies, "The truth is that Salman is very impressed with Prabhudeva’s handling of the project. Inspite of being such a great choreographer, Prabhu has had a different choreographer to design the songs and dances in the film, so that he can concentrate on his direction. And now Salman is keen to do another film with Prabhu."

Khan has become good at campaigning for causes, especially after he canvassed for several political candidates in the last Lok Sabha elections. Perhaps all that training is paying rich dividends for the actor, as Wanted is now looking promising for audiences.
