MUMBAI: Samsung and MTV have launched the first of its kind 360 degrees youth engagement program -Samsung Mobile MTV Gang Next.
Samsung Mobile in partnership with MTV has handpicked 50 gangs from top educational institutes from top 5 cities in India (Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore & Kolkota). Each gang consists of 5 members who are a representation of their respective college.
Every gang member has been armed with the latest in mobile technology from Samsung Mobile and accessories from MTV in order to keep them one step ahead! Every fortnight, the gangs are given tasks that they have to perform to the best of their abilities, before the other gangs and every task has a winner.
Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. senior vice president – Strategy & Business Development Anuj Poddar says, “At MTV it is our constant effort to reach out to our audiences in every way possible. The gangs selected as a result of the audition process are talented in different ways, not necessarily only in academics and sports. They are immensely popular, trend setters in their lifestyles, inquisitive & live the spirit of next-is-what?”
Samsung Mobile general manager Marketing Asim Warsi adds, “Globally the youth or the young minded consumer (YMC) is central to Samsung’s attempt at understanding its franchisee better and a core understanding is something that does not always result from various forms of consumer research. It requires a deeper, longer term association with the youth & a commitment to do so. Gang Next is one small step in that direction.”
