MUMBAI: Santosh Sivan’s fable about little boy’s journey to find meaning and purpose in his world – Tahaan – is all set to screen at eight international film festivals across the globe in 2009.
Tahaan will participate in the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Stockholm International Film Festival, New York International Children’s Film Festival, Fribourg International Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Titanic International Film Festival (Hungary) and the Movies that Matter (Amsterdam) Showcase sponsored by the Amnesty International.
The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2008, after which it was showcased at several film festivals such as Rome, Cinekid, London and Pusan to name a few.
It stars Anupam Kher, Sarika, Rahul Bose, Rahul Khanna and Victor Banerjee. The film’s script was the official script selection for the Pusan Promotional Plan at the 2007 Pusan International Film Festival. The film has been produced by IDream Production and Santosh Sivan Films.
