MUMBAI: Saregama India has made two senior level appointments. The company has appointed Aditya Shastri as business head – films and Manish Popat as business head – TV (National).
Saregama is gearing up to release Abbas Tyrewala’s Jhootha Hi Sahi starring John Abraham on 15 October, 2010. The company also has other projects green lit for production this year.
Prior to joining Saregama India, Shastri was with Gitanjali as CEO – Entertainment. Prior to that, he has worked with companies like People Pictures, UFO Moviez and UTV Motion Pictures.
On the other hand, Popat, who has been hired as business head – TV (National), has been brought on board to consolidate the company’s position in the TV production space. Saregama, which already produced content in regional languages, plans to foray in the GEC space and has acquired rights to an international format. The company will begin pitching to channels soon.
Popat has previously worked with organizations like Lintas India, Trikaya Grey Advertising, UTV Software Communications and Miditech. Saregama has also appointed Sachin Mohite as creative head for the National TV division.
Saregama India managing director Apurv Nagpal said, "We want Saregama to create great content, whatever the medium and I’m confident that Aditya & Manish will help us achieve this objective in a very short span of time."
