TLV Prasad launches sequel to Tauba Tauba

MUMBAI: Director T L V Prasad has joined the sequel bandwagon with the launch of his new film Phir Tauba Tauba, successor to his earlier film Tauba Tauba.


Says Prasad, “The film is being produced under the banner of Pushpa Movies. The earlier version featured Payal Rohatgi and was made within a budget of Rs 10 million (Rs 1 crore) and has grossed a business of about Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crore). In the sequel, Sadhika plays the female lead opposite Rahul Roy. The story is about three teenagers, who are infatuated with a 30 year old married woman. The film is basically a comic mystery. We have completed the entire shooting of the film in London. The first copy of the film is out and we plan to release it by the end of April or the first week of May.”


Prasad got his first directorial break with Telugu film Kudi Yedamye Thae in 1980. The film was a big hit and Prasad followed up with 25 films in a span of 10 years. In 1993, he directed his first Hindi film, Janta Ki Adalat, featuring Mithun Chakraborty. Prasad has featured in the Limca Book of Records for directing more than 26 films starring Mithun in the lead. His last Hindi release was the 2006 film Naughty Boy which starred Rahul Roy.
