Satte Pe Satta postponed: Sanjay Dutt’s hair plays villain

MUMBAI: After all the hoopla over the casting of the female lead, it now appears that the new version of Satte Pe Satta has been postponed to next year. And this time it’s Sanjay Dutt’s hair that’s played the villain.

Apparently, Dutt who has gone bald for his part in Siddharth Malhotra’s Agneepath, needs time to grow back his hair before he gets into Satte Pe Satta.

Madhuri Dixit, who has been approached to play the female lead, has now been informed that Satte Pe Satta is postponed until next year.

Explains Dixit’s business manager Rakesh Nath, “Sanjay Dutt has shaved his hair for a film. He needs to grow it back and for that he needs at least two months. They wanted to start in September-October when Sanjay’s hair is back in place. But by then Madhuri will be shooting for the next season of the reality-show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. So by the time Sanjayji will be ready to shoot Madhuriji’s dates will be unavailable.”

With Satte Pe Satta pushed to next year, talks are on for Madhuri to accept another project. A source tells Businessofcinema.com, “With Sridevi definitely making a comeback at the end of the year with Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish, Madhuri is doubly keen to make a comeback as soon as possible.”

During their heydays in the 1980s, Sridevi and Madhuri were seen as closest contenders vying for the same roles for the same banners. Such was the competitive edge between the two that no filmmaker could ever bring the two divas together in any film. Now they’re both aiming to return at the same time.

Rakesh Nath confirms that Madhuri may return with a film other than Satte Pe Satta. “She has several offers and she may accept one of them.”
