MUMBAI: The Salon and Beauty Parlour Association of India has taken offense to the word ‘Barber’ in the titled of Red Chillies Entertainment’s forthcoming film Billu Barber. Due to this, the movie will now be called Billu with the word Barber being snipped from the title.
The association found the title offensive and Shah Rukh Khan, who had produced the movie, has decided to comply and remove the word from the publicity campaign wherever possible.
The movie is slated to release on 13 February and stars Irffan Khan, Lara Dutta and Rajpal Yadav. Shah Rukh Khan has a special appearance in the movie.
As a part of the marketing strategy, Red Chillies Entertainment and Eros International had tied up with barber shops across Mumbai wherein the movie’s posters were prominently placed.
