MUMBAI: In an attempt to make a difference to the generation next, Shilpa Shetty has joined forces with the Dove Self-Esteem Fund campaign this week in UK to raise the morale of young people all over the world.
Kick-starting a global initiative with an educational workshop called BodyTalk at Sebright Primary School in London, Shilpa joined the likes of Desperate Housewives actress Andrea Bowen, T4’s Miquita Oliver, Blue Peter’s Zoe Salmon and ex-Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon, who have earlier conducted similar workshops in various schools across Britain.
Facilitating a discussion about personality development with a class of youngsters in the age group of 11 to 14 years, Shilpa said, "There have been moments in my career where I have struggled with self-esteem, so I’m really pleased to be doing this workshop. As a person in the public eye, I understand the important role I can play in making a difference to the way young people feel about themselves."
The workshop was supported by Beat, UK’s leading eating-disorders charity. Expanding their horizons, the Dove Self- Esteem Fund aims to reach the maximum possible youngsters worldwide through similar educational campaigns and workshops in the future.
