MUMBAI: Studio 18 has claimed that Namastey London has already reaped total net revenue of Rs 30,505,963 in the opening week from Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida.
The company has distributed the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida, and has reportedly garnered Rs 30,505,963 net collections in the opening week (net figure is after deducting approximately about 50 per cent for theatre rent and another 20 per cent for print, publicity and commission, if the film is not taken on minimum gurantee). Namastey London’s opening week collection in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida is being ranked as the fifth biggest opening week till date. The other films that have been all time box office successes include the 2006 hits Krrish, Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna, Fanaa and Dhoom:2.
Namastey London has been released in 43 theatres across Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida. Studio 18 CEO Sandeep Bhargava however admits that the second week’s collections have dropped by 20 per cent.
Sources say the film was purchased by Studio 18 for an estimated Rs 23.5 million (Rs 2.35 crore), which included the prints and publicity.
Going ahead into the next couple of weeks, it remains to be seen whether the company manages to recover its money from the film.
