MUMBAI: The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has invited producer – director Subhash Ghai to represent India by being a juror for final selection of the 35th International Emmy Awards in the US. This is the third consecutive time that Ghai has been selected as a juror for the same.
Ghai said, “It is a great honour to be on the jury for the international Emmy awards since it stands purely on academic merits, not ruled by commercial forces and trading favours. I wish we could have such an international academy like Emmy Awards that has a foolproof system in India as well.”
This council is the largest organisation of global broadcasters with representatives from 50 countries on its board. It was chartered in 1969 with a mission to honour and encourage excellence in television programming outside the United States by presenting the international awards. It is a unique independent organization consisting of television and media leaders who come together to promote quality global programming. This year the council is implementing a new final judging method where it will gather top television and film leaders from around the world to participate.
