Swati Shetty to join Balaji as president – film business

MUMBAI: Balaji Motion Pictures has appointed Swati Shetty as president of its motion picture business.
As was first reported by Businessofcinema.com, Shetty quit Walt Disney Studios International Production (India) in February this year, where she was executive director, theatrical productions and acquisitions.
Shetty is slated to join Balaji in early May and will report to Balaji Telefilms Group CEO Puneet Kinra. 
According to information available with Businessofcinema.com, the CEOs of Balaji’s two banners namely Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment will report to Shetty. While Balaji Motion Pictures has Tanuj Garg as CEO, the company is on the lookout for a CEO for its second motion pictures banner.
Shetty was with Disney India for over six years in various capacities. Prior to handing the motion picture business, she was the India director of Disney-ABC International Television. She joined Disney India in 2005 from Star India and was initially responsible for ad sales of Disney channels.
