Teji Bachchan passes away - Business Of Cinema

MUMBAI: Actor Amitabh Bachchanâ€™s mother, Teji Bachchan (93) passed away on Friday (21 December) in Mumbaiâ€™s Lilavati Hospital after prolonged illness.

The last rites will be performed on Saturday (22 December).

She was the wife of Hindi literary poet and writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan who passed away in 2003 at the age of 96. The senior Mrs Bachchan had been hospitalized for almost a year and was shifted to the ICU last month.

The Bachchan family comprising sons Amitabh and Ajitabh, grandson Abhishek and his wife Aishwarya, arrived at the hospital upon hearing that her condition had deteriorated. Her body was later taken to the Bachchans’ residence Prateeksha.
