Time Broadband to bring 15 TV channels on mobile

MUMBAI: Time Broadband Services Pvt. Ltd. (TBSL) will be launching its Digital Mobile TV channel bouquet in India, which will comprise 15 entertainment and news channels.

The channels will be entertainment based verticals comprising Bollywood and news content. Plans are to increase the number of mobile TV channels to 99 of varied content with interactive games and Value Added Services (VAS). These channels will be be available on all GPRS enabled phone of all make irrespective of mobile service operators.

Time Broadband Services has inked various tie-ups with the Film and TV Producers Guild of India for entertainment content, with the Indian Music Industry (IMI) for music content and with Sony Pictures for Hollywood content.

The 15 Channel Digital Bouquet will create new horizon of opportunities for Indian entertainment industry. Mobile screens offer 200 million more delivery platform and large monetizing prospect.

Time Broadband Services pulled a successful run in Beijing Olympics with three screens strategy namely TV, computer and mobile. This was achieved in association with China Mobile, and TIME-Stanton Technologies, the technology division of TBSL, in Malaysia.

The company is funded by Dubai Ventures and has achieved the financial closure via second round of foreign direct investment for its pan-India IPTV roll-out.
