Mumbai: Turner Broadcasting System, that announced its animation theatrical business in India earlier this year, has appointed Chitra Subramaniam as its Director Features.
Subramaniam joined Turner on 1 June. She will be handling the production, marketing and distribution of Turner’s films.
Confirming the appointment Turner International India vice president and deputy general manager – entertainment networks, South Asia, Monica Tata says, "Chitra will play a key role in Turner’s animation theatrical venture. She will look into the production of films and also leverage Turner’s TV networks, consumer products and new media to market these films effectively."
While animation will continue to be Turner’s key area of activity in feature films, live actions films will also be explored. Currently, some projects are being identified for the same for original IP creation as well as for co-productions.
Prior to this, Subramaniam worked with Studio 18 as the vice president production for a period of one and a half year.
