Udit Narayan to produce Hindi film

MUMBAI: After Kumar Sanu, it is singer Udit Narayan who is now planning to produce a Hindi film. Narayan will launch the film next year and is planning to rope in a big star cast for the same.


 


“I’m planning a big budget Hindi film, which will be launched next year. We are looking out for co-production partners too. Meanwhile, we are readying our second Bhojpuri film Kabh Kahbe I Love You for November – December release. The film has been shot in Darjeeling and Gorakhpur and is made on a budget of Rs 7 million (Rs 70 lakhs),” he says.


 


He further adds, “We were the first ones who started the trend of making costly Bhojpuri films. Our first Bhojpuri film Kab Hoii Gawna Hamaar was budgeted around Rs 12.5 million (Rs 1.25 crores). The film had been extensively shot in Mauritius. The film was released in Bombay, Bihar, U.P. and Punjab with 22 prints and also in Holland. We have been getting offers from there for the dubbing rights of the film in Dutch and French languages.”


 


Plans are to launch another Bhojpuri film after the release of Kabh Kahbe I Love You.
