UTV produced movies win eight National Awards

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ six films have won the banner a total of eight National Awards.

 

The movies that were awarded at the 56th National Awards are: Jodhaa Akbar, Fashion, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Mumbai Meri Jaan, A Wednesday and Harishchandrachi Factory.

 

Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively for Fashion. Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! won the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, whereas Mumbai Meri Jaan won for Best Special Effects. A Wednesday directed by Neeraj Pandey won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a director, whereas Jodhaa Akbar won Best Costume Designer for Nita Lulla and Best Choreography for Rekha and Chinni Prakash.

 

Harishchandrachi Factory, UTV’s first Marathi production to be released nationwide on 29 January, won the Best Regional Film award.
