MUMBAI: Mumbai Mantra’s first Bengali film Antaheen has been awarded the National Award for Best Film.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary, the film stars Rahul Bose, Radhika Apte, Aparna Sen, Sharmila Tagore and Mita Vashisth.
Roy Chowdhary said, "While making a film, a director wants to tell a story about people he knows and Antaheen is all about different kinds of people. Antaheen is a journey of different characters as they explore relationships and discover a strong urban loneliness which ultimately binds them together. It is also a very personal journey for me. I would like to thank Mumbai Mantra for supporting me and having faith in me for making a regional film. I would also like to share this momentous occasion with all those associated with this film and look forward to many more such successes."
Bose added, "This is fantastic news. I am happy for Aniruddha who has gotten this honour in his second film. This is a great victory for small art house cinema at a time when its very existence is in danger."
