MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish is now in the news for the wrong reason! The film has been hit by a copyright controversy.
Novelist Dayanand Raajan has accused the writer of Guzaarish for lifting the theme of his new book for the plot of the movie. According to Raajan, Guzaarish’s plot line and characters is similar to that of his novel.
The makers of Guzaarish have been served with a seven-day notice period after which Raajan will go to the court for a stay order on the film. In Guzaarish, the hero meets with an accident and becomes immobilized for the rest of his life, and the film is also about mercy killing, Raajan’s unpublished novel too has a similar story to tell and both the film and novel are set in the backdrop of Goa with Christianity as a predominant theme.
Guzaarish stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles and is slated to release on 17 November.
