MUMBAI: UTV has unveiled the logo of its youth brand Bindass, launched in association with Malaysia based media company Astro Measat. The channel is scheduled to launch by mid 2007.
Designed by the London based design outfit BDA, the logo has been chosen for its spunk and simplicity with bold and vibrant colours capturing the energy, fun and frankness of brand Bindass.
UTV has also appointed Sanjay Puthli as senior vice president – revenue and business head – new media of Bindass.
In his new role, Puthli will report to Bindass CEO Zarina Mehta and will be responsible for sales revenues for all Bindass channels, as well as act as business head for Bindass’s new media division that includes mobile, digital and merchandising extensions.
Puthli’s last assignment was as senior vice president with MTV Networks India, and has worked with The Viacom group for 10 years, including a four year stint in Singapore.
Bindass, the youth centric brand scheduled for launch in mid 2007, has an outlay of Rs 2 billion (Rs 200 crore). Touted to be India’s first local youth entertainment brand, Bindass will be a 360 degree entertainment venture and will include the entire gamut of entertainment: television channels, a mobile channel, three websites, creation of original games, merchandising, retail and nationwide ground events providing Indian Youth with an array of choices, including multiple channels across languages in India and Southeast Asia.
