Vij to embark on Rs 500 million film

MUMBAI: Close on the heels of making devotional film on Sai Baba called Malik Ek, Deepak Balraaj Vij will revive his banner Seven Mountain Movies and also commence a Rs 500 million (Rs 50 crores) film Golden Temple. The film will mount the sets in February.


 


Confirming the development to Businessofcinema.com, he says, “I have just returned from Amritsar. I visited the Golden Temple and met many priests. I will bring in writers from Punjab to script this film. The film revolves around the Sikh community. The film will be made on a budget of Rs 500 million (Rs 50 crores). The shooting will commence in February. A major portion will be shot in Canada and also in most countries where Sikhs reside. The balance 20 per cent shooting will be in Punjab and the Golden Temple.”


 


“This will be my last film as the director under my banner, afterwhich I will direct films from outside banners.”


 


Vij has earlier made films like Sailaab, Jaan Tere Naam, Hafta Vasuli and more recently Mumbai Godfather.
