MUMBAI: Bollywood descended with its full star power to wish Katrina Kaif a happy birthday last night while also watching the new indie kid in town, director Anand Gandhi’s ‘Ship Of Theseus’. Add to that Aamir Khan also showed-off his new residence. Talk about killing three birds with one stone!
The evening started out with a screening of ‘Ship Of Theseus’, followed by a party to celebrate Katrina Kaif’s birthday at Aamir Khan’s new residence. The husband and wife duo of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao were the common link between the events as Kiran Rao is presenting the indie film while Aamir Khan is currently shooting with Katrina Kaif for ‘Dhoom 3’.
The indie gang of Mukesh Shah, Sohum Shah, Aida El-Kashef, Neeraj Kabi and Anand Gandhi were present along with Kiran Rao. Kiran Rao was looking simple yet stately in a green sleeveless gown.
Many other Bollywood celebrities came for the screening and stayed back for the birthday party. In fact, many of Aamir Khan’s current colleagues were seen. Rajkumar Hirani, with whom Aamir is currently working on ‘Peekay’ was seen, Also, spotted was Jackie Shroff from the ‘Dhoom 3’ team.
Many of Aamir’s past colleagues were present too. Be it his ‘Lagaan’ director Ashutosh Gowariker or ‘Rang De Basanti’ colleagues Atul Kulkarni, Kunal Kapoor and Prasoon Joshi, or his ‘Talaash’ co-stars Rani Mukherji and Nawazuddin Sidiqui.
The young brigade, primarily Katrina Kaif’s friends and well-wishers, were present in a large number too. Kangna Ranaut and Parineeti Chopra appeared as if they were just at home. Meanwhile, Parineeti’s cousin Priyanka Chopra appeared in a rather not-so ‘exotic’ top. Zoya Akhtar hobnobbed quite a bit with Priyanka Chopra. Do we see a collaboration on the cards?
‘Student Of The Year’ team of Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and director Karan Johar were seen as well. Imran Khan was with his wife Avantika, while Ayushmann Khurrana came alone, looking smart as he always does and Ranbir Kapoor, was the cynosure of all eyes.
Many reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor is dating birthday girl Katrina Kaif. But the ‘Barfi!’ actor stayed clear of any such rumours last night as he stayed away from her, at least when the shutterbugs were around.
The birthday girl herself was ill due to the exhaustion from gymnastics practice for her upcoming film, but she was seen in exceptionally good spirits last night. Katrina Kaif looked radiant in her white top over orange pants, a good choice we may say.
We’re guessing this team will also be seen at Priyanka Chopra’s birthday bash, if she’s having one, on 18 July. Some more celebration time for Bollywood!
