MUMBAI: Unreasonable demands made by Sujoy Ghosh has allegedly led to his ouster from directing the much awaited ‘Kahaani’ sequel. It seems that after demanding Rs 35 crore to direct the sequel, Sujoy Ghosh has been shown the way with Kundan Shah replacing him as the new director on board.
This time, PEN India Pvt Ltd. and the CMD Jayantilal Gada have taken the decision to rope in Kundan Shah of ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’ fame to direct the sequel.
A source close to Jayantilal Gada has said, “Sujoy never sent any reply to Gada’a mail and after contemplating for a while, PEN India decided to replace Ghosh with Shah.”
Jayantilal Gada also added and said, “Movies are made with teamwork and not greed.”
Reportedly, Sujoy Ghosh expressed his displeasure on the situation and has laughed off the incident stating, “Anybody can make a women oriented film. Be it Kundan Shah or Jayantilal Gada. Let them do what they want. As far as story of Vidya Bagchi is concerned, nobody can take the story forward except me…But it’s only me, who has the right to work on that story.
The director has also expressed his angst on Twitter:
and if you believe everything that you read.. then let me tell you.. i just saw a pink elephant fly past..
