[tps_footer]Chhote Nawab Saif Ali Khan sure had an unpleasant experience in the Capital city this week. Saif Ali Khan, promoting his film Bullett Raja in New Delhi, was in for a rude shock…
Present in New Delhi for a Voters’ Awareness Campaign, organised by Fox Star Studios and the Delhi Election Office, Saif wanted to club promotions of Bullett Raja with the event. However, Saif was treated to a rude welcome at the venue, because he and his team were more than three hours late.
What went down:
Delhi media was left waiting for Saif and team, for more than three hours. When Saif finally reached the venue, the media reacted in anger, and expected an apology from Saif, for making them wait. However, this angered Saif even more and he refused to apologise.
Saif said in a huff: “I will not apologise because it is not my fault… I was stuck in traffic. If anybody should apologise it is the election officials as they didn’t convey the right time.”
Saif was adamant, and he even went on to say that he would never give interviews or attend press conferences in Delhi hereafter. “I should not be blamed for this chaos and I feel stars should not come to Delhi. This is my last visit to Delhi and henceforth, I will give interviews from Mumbai.”
Accompanying Saif to the event in New Delhi were his Bullett Raja co-stars Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill and director Tigmanshu Dhulia. Saif was so enraged that he also cancelled the scheduled press conference after the event.
BOC View: While we do understand that perhaps Saif Ali Khan was indeed delayed by Delhi’s infamous traffic snarls, we wish he had dealt with the situation a bit more cautiously. For it is not befitting a man of his stature, and a royal especially, to react in such a manner. Nevertheless, we do express our sympathy with him for bearing the ire of the assembled media, whom too did not behave in a very becoming manner. We wish the incident doesn’t leave a bad taste in the mouths of both Saif and the media.[/tps_footer]
