Bollywood loves to celebrate its festivals. Be it Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Dussehra, Holi or Janmashtami, Bollywood comes out with its cast and crew to celebrate these festivals with everyone. Bollywood also has the song and dance routine for these festivals.

Janmashtami, especially, has many songs dedicated to it on the silver screen over the years.

The most famous one will always be one of the first Janmashtami songs in Bollywood: Govinda Ala Re Ala from ‘Bluffmaster’. Who can forget Shammi Kapoor singing to that song? It still is a compulsory play at Dahi Handi celebrations everywhere even now.

Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan too have danced to their Holi songs. While Amitabh Bachchan had Mach Gaya Shor, Salman Khan sang his own Janmashtami song in ‘Hello Brother’. Chandi Ki Daal is a hit for the energetic dancing between Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji.

Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, has two Janmashtami songs – Govinda Govinda from ‘Jeete Hain Shaan Se’ and Har Taraf Hai Yeh Shor from ‘Vaastav’.

Father and daughter pair Shatrughan Sinha and Sonakshi Sinha also have a Janmashtami song each. While Shatrughan Sinha had Shor Mach Gaya Shor from ‘Badla’, Sonakshi Sinha had ‘Go Go Go Govinda’ with Prabhu Deva from ‘OMG’.

And who can forget one of the most memorable Janmashtami sequences in bollywood last year when Hrithik Roshan broke the dahi handi in ‘Agneepath’ with Priyanka Chopra cheering on?

BusinessOfCinema wishes all its readers a happy and Bollywood-filled Janmashtami as you check out these dahi handi moments from the movies.
