MUMBAI: It was a glorious, star-studded event to celebrate veteran Marathi actor Sachin Pilgaonkar’s 50 years in the industry, which was made all the more special by Bollywood megalith Amitabh Bachchan’s presence.
Bachchan made a dignified entry, well within time, to honour Sachin Pilgaonkar for his contribution to cinema over a wondrous fifty years. On the occasion, Sachin also launched his autobiography.
Many industry veterans took to the stage, to speak about Sachin and his incredible journey. Amitabh Bachchan too was seen on the stage, speaking of his association with Sachin. In a cream coloured kurta-pyjama and shawl, Bachchan looked like he was still stuck in his ‘Satyagraha’ avatar.
The event also saw a special performance by music maestro Bappi Lahiri.
Also spotted at the event were superstar cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, his wife Dr. Anjali Tendulkar, singer Sonu Nigam, musician Bappi Lahiri. Sachin’s wife Supriya Pilgaonkar stood resolutely by her husband’s side, and basked in the glory that was being showered upon him.
