MUMBAI: John Abraham is all pumped up for his next release ‘Madras Café’. The film set against the military backdrop in Sri Lanka will have John Abraham play an intelligence officer.
John seems to have taken his role too seriously, even during the promotions of the film.
The actor was spotted with injury marks after promoting his film in Mumbai. It’s quite surprising that John, who was earlier seen in a blue full-sleeve t-shirt and army cargos, now sported grey shirts and had bloodstains on his lower lip. Wonder if the lad met with an accident.
Meanwhile, groups in Tamil Nadu have banned the film citing reasons that ‘Madras Café’ portrays Tamil Nadu in wrong light. There have also been reports that the film has been financed by the Sri Lankan government.
At the Tamil trailer launch of the film, John Abraham was questioned on the subject and he clarified that Viacom18 Motion Pictures have produced the film along with him.
‘Madras Café’ directed by Shoojit Sircar also stars Nargis Fakhri in the lead. The film will release in Hindi and Tamil (dubbed as ‘Madras Café’ itself) will release on 23 August.
